I liked this book pretty well, though to call it a book is a stretch. It's only about 50 pages, so it's more of an open ended, incomplete short story, sort of come on to buy the next book. Which, it's free, so you can't complain too much. And really the length is the only complaint I have. I liked the characters, even though I didn't have a lot of time to really get attached to them, and I thought the premise of the story was interesting. Obviously, the goal was to get me to pick up the next book and it worked. I want to find out what's going on.Product details

First book in the series. Buy it, and then immediately go and buy Part Two. You won't regret it! Part Two takes you far enough into the story to be able to wait for the conclusion. Part One did not...it picks you up and moves you with it to the point where you just don't want to let go. I bought this, and then waited for Pt.Two to read it, and I'm glad I did! This is an outstandingly well constructed description of a young mans escape from a less than pleasant existence...being different in school. I think this is something most of us can relate to, no matter what our current age. Escaping into dreams is also fairly common, although not to the extent that Cal did. Do not let the school thing throw you off...most of the time I forgot how old Cal was, I got just that involved in what was happening. I promise you, you do not have to be young to enjoy this! Clean, clear, concise, all the good words that describe clever, enjoyable writing. I don't give fives stars unless I really enjoy a book! I am sooooo waiting for Part Three!!
An interesting premise, a good young adult book. No swearing, no gratuitous sex or violence. I read about lucid dreaming when I was in my teens but never pursued the idea. This goes a step further...like I said...an interesting premise.
This book does great justice to the art of lucid dreaming. I was ecstatic to read a novel about lucid dreaming that had elements of romance and suspense. I've already purchased part 2 and can't wait to read it!
I love a good dreamy story, sonic probably a little biased, but this is definitely intriguing. Characters are likable, and the moves along at a great pace. Recommend for sure! =)
What a wonderful (very) short story! The characters were relatable & written well, the "Dreamscape" was incredibly enticing & imaginative. This would be a great book for a younger audience as there is no profanity, ect. But is wonderful for all ages as well. I peraonally did not want the story to end! I will definitely look for the next installment and this ended as a cliff hanger

I really enjoyed this snippet of _Dreamwalkers_. Since this is a small portion of the whole story, it's a bit hard to tell how the story will continue to work itself out, but I'm hopeful that it will be as good as this portion was.
The characters were strong, the plot was steady, and I was willing to suspend my disbelief to enjoy myself in D. M. Andrews' story world.
If you're looking at this story for younger readers, there is very little in the way of violence and profanity, and just some sexual tension between the main characters.
I look forward to reading the next part of the story.
The problem with this genre is that many of the books are full of violence, sex, and gore, and I don't like violence and gore. So I often turn to books that are "safe" for younger readers. The problem with that is that many of those don't appeal to older readers, a category into which, unfortunately, I perfectly fit. Imagine, then, how pleased I was, and am, to find D. M. Andrews. His story lines are well developed, as are his characters, which are quite appealing. The books are very creative, fun, and they keep my attention from start to finish. But, really, D.M. -- you need to connect your mind to your computer more often and let your creativity flow into more books!
